This is a tour to the South Valley of Cusco, it is a hidden gem and not well known by visitors to the city, but that does not mean that it is not very important to us.
Especially if you have an additional day in Cusco during this tour you will visit the only Sistine church with fresco paintings in Cusco. The Andahuaylillas Chapel, you can also visit the temple dedicated to the
Tipon water cult and one of the largest cities built in Pre-Inca times. Pikillacta, this tour has an approximate duration of seven hours and in the course of the day there will be many other small stops along the way.
The tour to Tipon starts at 8 am. at the lobby of your hotel. Where your guide and driver will be waiting for you and we will start our tour with:
First the Sistine Chapel of San Pedro Apóstol de Andahuaylillas, within which we can see one of the only chapels that It has a wall decorated with the famous Italian Fresco technique with the representation of Paradise, hell and the aftermath, these on each side of the entrance to the chapel and on the cornice a painting of the Virgin Mary.
After visiting this beautiful chapel we will go towards the archaeological zone of Tipon, a beautiful architectural construction dedicated to Water with a number of agricultural terraces and an impressive quantity and quality of water channels which will show us the high knowledge of hydraulics in Inca times.
We will visit this place for an hours before our return to Cusco.
This entrance was protected by the guards at Rumiqolqa the access area to the city of Cusco in Inca times a very wide and thick wall well protected, however, after time for some photos after that, we will head to our last stop, the ruins of Pikillacta, built first by the Huari Chanca culture and finally inhabited by the Incas.
These ruins have a diameter of two km. squares in length and width within which we will see a fascinating distribution of squares, streets, warehouses, farms and houses, very well organized structurally and all of these protected with a paved wall within.
Here we can also observe the most important principles of pre-Inca road construction.
After approximately 45 minutes visiting Tipon we will return to Cusco and take you back to your hotel. This will be the end of the tour.

We were recommended this company by our neighbor. Ruben/Juan was great with questions and provided a lot of valuable information as I was planning parts on my own instead using a set tour, partially due to wanting to climb one of the optional peaks which you need to book months in advance. We then hit a snag with my wife’s passport and Ruben happily rearranged the tour for us even though we gave last minute notice.
Our tour guide Wagner met us where the bus dropped us of (can be arranged to pick up from your hotel as well), and we spent the next two hours learning a lot about the history of the site and he took us away from the crowds, and accommodated our photos requests. After we hung around and explored on our own until it was time to leave….

FANTASTIC!!! From start to finish! Amazing Andean Adventures was in charge for our entire 8 day trip to Peru. Every detail and pick up was perfect. Every driver and guide was great! Thank you Kivin and Joaquin for finding my camera!
There was one special guide that we will never forget. Dany met us at our hotel in Agnes Calientes and was very patient as our train was late arriving. His knowledge of the history and culture of the Incans made the tour of Machu Picchu come alive! We were fortunate to have Dany for two days, always upbeat, helpful, fun, and competent. The Cusco City Tour was also amazing with the continuing history making us feel like we were actually there in the time of the Inca rule. Magical…

We traveled to Cusco this December with a three day private tour planned with Danny. My mom had done a similar tour with Danny and recommended him/amazing andean adventures to us! Our three day adventure was pretty much perfect; danny was always early to meet us, super friendly, with great english and tons of knowledge to share about the ruins and inca historical sites we visited. He even made the rain clear up so we could get a perfect view of machu picchu after our hike. On day one we went from our hotel to various destinations in sacred valley, which I worked with the company to plan so that we would hit all the spots I wanted to. They were helpful and accommodating in building a highly individualized itinerary…
